Commander Night

Commander Night is every Wednesday from 6 to 10 PM at Bat City Games & Comics. It is free, and it lands on new comics day, so you can pick up your pull list and stay for a game.

  • When: Every Wednesday, 6 to 10 PM
  • Cost: Free
  • Where: Bat City Games & Comics, Sunset Valley

New to Commander?

Commander is Magic's multiplayer format. You build a 100-card deck led by a legendary creature, called your commander, and you usually play in groups of four. No card appears twice except basic lands. Everyone starts at 40 life, and 21 combat damage from the same commander knocks a player out.

Before a game starts, the table talks about what kind of game everyone wants. That chat is called Rule 0. If you are new, say "I'm new," and the table will take it from there. Wizards of the Coast has a Commander page with the official rules.

No deck yet?

Ask at the counter and we will point you to a good first one. Preconstructed decks are the easiest way in, and our Commander deck collection shows what is on the shelf. Sleeves and deck boxes are in the shop too. Our How to Play Magic guide covers the basics.
